AEW’s Bryan Danielson has said he was not a fan of the Yes! chant following his main event win at WrestleMania 30.
Danielson won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30 by defeating Randy Orton and Batista in the main event, after qualifying for the match earlier that night with a win over Triple H.
For fans, Danielson’s win was a long-time coming as WWE had (at least on-screen) actively tried to keep him away from the main event.
While speaking on The Sessions with Renee Paquette podcast, Danielson recalled hating doing the Yes! chant on the night.
“I’ve never had the knee-jerk reaction to do the yes! I either purposely did it on my own thinking that this was really funny and fun, or I was forced to do it.
Danielson’s neck issues would lead to him vacating the WWE World Heavyweight Championship months later and he would be forced to retire in 2016.
Bryan would leave WWE in 2021 and would join AEW in September of last year.
